Rooting Canvas HD A116






  • First you need to download "motochopper by djrbliss" on your PC. {LINK}
  • Extract the archive anywhere.
  • For Windows users, you need to install the latest Motorola USB drivers available for your phone. You can easily do it by installing pdaNet or Moborobo on your PC and connecting your phone as per asked by the program. If pdaNet doesnt worked out, you can try Moborobo. {LINKS: pdaNetMoborobo}
  • Enable USB Debugging mode on your device.
  • For Windows users, execute the "run.bat" inside the contents of the extracted archive. Be sure to run it as admin. For Linux or OS X users, execute “./run.sh” via terminal window.

    Requirements

    • A Micromax A116 
    • In your Canvas HD go to Settings>Developers Option>USB Debugging, and turn it on.
    • Download root files, and copy them into your External SD.  Link 1 Link 2

    Root Micromax Canvas HD

    1. Connect your Micromax Canvas HD to your PC.
    2. Now install the mobile drivers. Download
    3. Download SP Flash Tools, and now extract and open it.
    4. Now extract the Stock ROM, and replace recovery.img with CWM Recovery. CWM Recovery
    5. In SP Flash Tools, click on Scatter-Loading and the program will ask you the location of the scatter loading file for your device.
    6. In the extracted folder of the root package (stock rom), go to the folder named “S9201_MP_F4_B1_IN_MMX_0.16_flasher_user” and select the file “MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc” which is the Canvas HD’s scatter loading file.Download
    7.  Now check only recovery.img, and uncheck all the other options.


    1. Switch off your Canvas HD, and disconect it with your PC.
    2. Now in Flash Tool, go to options, and and click USB Mode so that it is enabled. 
    3. Now click options again and then go to DA Download All > Speed and finally select High Speed.
    4. Click on Download button ( present on the right of Firmware -> Upgrade )
    5. Now connect your Canvas HD to your PC ( don’t turn it on )
    6. The Flash Tool will start the flashing process, the progress of which can be viewed from a yellow progress bar at the bottom of the flash tool.
    7. After the process completes, a green ring will appear on your device signalling that the process was successful.
    8. Now, disconect your device.
    9. Hold the power button and the volume rocker (both up and down) button until you see an option appear on screen.
    10. Tap the Volume up button to enter the device in recovery mode.
    11. Now select flash update zip, and flash the 2 files that you copied into your Canvas HD.
    12. Done you are rooted !
     Just wait for reboot of your phone and check the application "Super User". You can also download Root Checker application from Play Store.
